U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (US CIS) announced that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in consultation with the Department of State, has identified 53 countries whose nationals will be eligible to participate in the H-2A and H-2B programs for coming year.
The H-2A program allows U.S. employers to bring foreign nationals to the United States to fill temporary agricultural jobs; the H-2B program allows U.S employers to bring foreign nationals to the United States for temporary nonagricultural jobs. A new list of eligible countries publishes in a Federal Register Notice and the designations are valid for one year from the date of publication.
Poland is one of the countries whose nationals are eligible to participate in the H-2A and H-2B program. Unfortunately the new program will not apply to present undocumented immigrants. In this case they cannot do anything to change their status.
In February, 2011 naturalization classes continue. They will end on March 18, 2011.

The program offers assistance in signing up for Wireless and Safelink Assurance (mobile phone company), which provides for low-income people:
- free cell phone
- 200-250 free minutes each month
- free voicemail and caller ID
- free connection to dial 911
The customer does not receive bills, did not sign any long-term contracts. Customers are invited to the office to submit an application for housing subsidized by the City of New York.
